Qualitative and quantitative research methods

AIMS, SOURCES, METHODS AND CHALLENGES IN RESEARCHING A HISTORY OF PARENT-SCHOOL-COMMUNITY RELATIONS

12 April 2016

How, historically, have people organised their lives around schooling, whether by choice or necessity? How can historical inquiry help us to make sense of contemporary and future schooling? This talk addresses some of the challenges and possibilities of doing historical research in the field of education. It will particularly focus on a current project that aims to combine a social and cultural history of parenting with a structural policy history of schooling.
