Qualitative and quantitative research methods

6 September 2016

Discourse analysis involves studying and analysing written and spoken language. It draws from diverse theoretical and methodological approaches, including anthropology, sociology, psychology, and linguistics. Because education research often involves conducting interviews and observations as well as collecting artefacts, discourse analysis can be a valuable methodological tool. This seminar will provide an introduction to discourse analysis and an overview of various types, including critical discourse analysis and microethnographic discourse analysis.
