Social Work Connect

7 August 2017

The Alumni Office of Humanities and Social Sciences proudly announces the second annual Social Work Connect event: where University of Sydney social work alumni, of all ages and stages of their careers, return to campus and share their hard-earned wisdom with students and recent graduates.

The presentations are engaging and entertaining, with acedotes that cover the entire spectrum of social work experience and social justice theory: think TEDx talks where you can meet the speakers afterwards over refreshments and ask questions. Who knows, the people you meet may be your supervisor, colleague or boss one day.

Our alumni presenters are a diverse bunch—from private and public; from recent graduates to senior carers to policy workers.

Last year’s speakers covered a range of topics, including developing a social work identity; dealing with trauma; and "How I used my Social Work degree to do what I love".
