Comparative and International Education Research Forum 2018

All are welcome to join us and keynote speaker Associate Professor Nigel Bagnall from The Sydney School of Education and Social Work (SSESW) (pictured), for a day of debates, discoveries and discussion. Presentations will highlight the diverse research being undertaken by comparative and international education research network academics and higher-degree-research student members in the SSESW. Conversations will continue afterwards at the Courtyard Café.

Writing Quietly

This is a sit-and-write session. Forum attendees will be writing their own work in two sessions with a tea break between.

1–4pm

Paper Presentations

Presentations will focus on the latest research PhD students are working on. Preference will be given to the presenters from The University of Sydney but all are welcome to attend.

4–5pm

Keynote Address

Associate Professor Nigel Bagnall from the School of Education and Social Work of The University of Sydney will present his recent work "Three continents and three perspectives: Brazilian, Australian and French youth talk about their hopes and aspirations for the future”.

  • Keynote speaker: Nigel Bagnall has extensive professional and consulting experience in a wide range of educational settings. His work in international schools and his research on the International Baccalaureate has established his reputation in the field of international curriculum in cross-cultural settings. Dr Bagnall's current research interests include education and belonging, global identity, youth transition and the role of international schools as agents for change.
