(For teachers outside the wider Sydney metropolitan region, attendance at the evening workshops is available by video-conference, subject to availability of facilities in your region.)
These workshops will examine in detail the theories, policies and practices that promote quality literacy and numeracy learning outcomes for students identified as experiencing difficulties learning in a mainstream classroom environment, across a range of Key Learning Areas. Specific focus will be placed on teachers working as part of teams to promote individualised programs and processes that assist students with additional learning needs to achieve collaboratively established learning outcomes. Workshop activities and individual learning tasks will promote the integration of theory and practice across a range of settings including early childhood, primary and secondary.

Assessment & Accreditation
To receive the Certificate in Educational Studies (Learning Support), teachers must attend and actively participate in all sessions (Successful Learning Conference 2011 + 5 workshops).
Successful participants have the option of having this program accredited as one unit of study towards the faculty's Master of Education (MEd) program, or the shorter Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies levels. This involves submitting an assessment task and an additional fee applies. If interested, please discuss this option further with the Academic Coordinator.
