Quality Literature for Quality Learning K–6
Term 4 2011 - date TBA | 9am – 3.15pm |
Using a range of contemporary children's literature and drawing on classroom experiences, this workshop explores student engagement, deep understanding and deep learning to enhance learning outcomes. It explores the place of literature in the Australian Curriculum: English K–6, and considers questions around quality literature, critical literacies and the role of the arts in quality learning.
This workshop will be interactive and participants should come prepared to engage fully, have fun and take away a number of meaningful teaching and learning strategies. Participants are asked to bring at least one example of something they define as 'quality literature' with them.
