Online and in-school programs
We now offer teachers professional development courses in the evenings off-campus and online. These courses are endorsed by the NSW Institute of Teachers (NSWIT) as continuing professional development.
The courses are 20 hours in length and are being offered in blended mode face-to-face classes at professional learning hub schools plus reading/online participation.
Cost and mentoring payment transfer
The cost of each module is $500 per person, GST inclusive. Teachers providing professional experience mentoring can redirect their payment from the faculty towards the cost.
Upon completion of both modules that make up each unit of study, an additional fee applies when participants wish to take up postgraduate credit transfer, bringing the cost in line with standard faculty postgraduate unit of study fees.
2013 courses
As yet, Children's Literature K6 Module 1 is the only blended unit-of-study program planned for 2013. Additional programs will be listed here as and when they are determined. Completion of Module 1 of any program is a prerequisite for enrolment in its corresponding Module 2.
Tailored in-school courses developed on request
The Office of Professional Learning can also deliver professional learning specifically tailored to your school's needs and delivered to your staff at your workplace. Modules can be adapted to be delivered at staff development days and in other customised modes, and will qualify for NSWIT professional-development endorsement.
