Online and in-school programs

We now offer teachers professional development courses in the evenings off-campus and online. These courses are endorsed by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) as continuing professional development. Four courses are available and more are being developed:

The modules within each course are offered as face-to-face classes at hub schools plus reading/online participation or assignments – and each is equivalent to half of a postgraduate unit of study.

Completion of Module 1 of any program is a prerequisite for teachers wishing to enrol in its corresponding Module 2. Teachers who successfully complete both modules of a program may choose to have their work assessed for accreditation towards a higher postgraduate degree.

Cost and mentoring payment transfer

In 2017, each module cost $770 per person (including GST). This fee is under review but may be taken as indicative until further details are known. Individual schools – or communities of schools – that can guarantee a minimum of 20 participants and agree to provide the venue for the workshops, should contact the Office of Professional Learning to discuss a reduced rate. An additional fee is charged when participants wish to take up this option of postgraduate credit transfer, to ensure price parity with school postgraduate coursework fees.

Tailored in-school courses developed on request

The Office of Professional Learning can also deliver programs and courses specifically tailored to your school's needs and delivered to your staff at your workplace.

Modules can be adapted to be delivered at staff-development days and in other customised modes, and may qualify for NESA professional-development endorsement.
