Online & In-School Delivery
We now offer teachers professional development courses in the evenings off-campus and online. These courses are endorsed by the NSW Institute of Teachers and can articulate directly with the Faculty of Education and Social Work's postgraduate programs.
The courses are 20 hours in length and are being offered in blended mode face-to-face classes at professional learning hub schools plus reading/online participation and fully online.
Postgraduate credit transfer
Courses are offered in two modules (eg 'Mentoring – Module 1' and 'Mentoring – Module 2'). Teachers may enrol in these modules as stand-alone professional development courses, or successfully complete two consecutive modules and qualify for postgraduate credit transfer for these Master of Education units of study:
- EDPF5015 Mentoring and Teacher Induction
- EDPG5011 Children's Literature K12 (Currently only available via professional learning articulation)
- EDPZ5010 Individual Professional Learning Portfolio
- EDPZ6730 Special Project 1
Cost and mentoring payment transfer
The cost of each module is $500 per person, GST inclusive. Teachers providing professional experience mentoring can redirect their payment from the faculty towards the cost.
Upon completion of both modules that make up each unit of study, an additional fee applies when participants wish to take up postgraduate credit transfer, bringing the cost in line with standard faculty postgraduate unit of study fees.
2012 courses
A full listing of the modules being offered in 2012 will be available here shortly. Please note, completion of module 1 is a prerequisite for enrolment in module 2.
Tailored in-school courses developed on request
We can also deliver professional learning specifically tailored to your school's needs and delivered to your staff at your workplace. Any of these modules can be adapted to be delivered at staff development days and in other customised modes; will receive NSWIT professional development endorsement; and can articulate with the faculty's postgraduate programs.
