Applying for ethics approval

The school reviews all ethics applications prior to sign off and submission to the University Ethics Office. Please be advised that ethics applications are now on-line only. For more information please see Research Support Ethics or contact Acting Ethics Coordinator, Dr George Odhiambo.

Gaining ethics clearance takes time!

Once your application has been reviewed by the school ethics review team, please allow enough time for your ethics application to be signed by the Pro Dean Research. Applications received on the day ethics applications are due are unlikely to be signed. The University of Sydney Ethics Office provides all the necessary information to complete your ethics application.

Research in NSW government schools

It is necessary to apply for separate ethics clearance from the NSW Department of Education and Communities when proposing research in NSW government schools. This process, known as SERAP, must be lodged along with University ethics clearance with the University Research Office. For further information:
