Visiting Scholars – application form

The application process for a subclass 419 visa will only begin after a Conferred Academic Title Nomination Form has been signed by the dean. Additional information about visa applications, including the answers to FAQs is published on Sydney People.

To apply to the dean to be nominated as a visiting scholar in the faculty, you should complete the form below the table on this page and email the documentation on the table below to Kimberly Hammond:

Supporting information
Curriculum vitae (not more than three pages), including: academic qualifications current employment details: position, duties, current supervisor’s name and contact details, institution and address of institution previous employment history names and contact details of two referees who may be consulted a list of publications for the last five years
Copies of passport ID pages for the affiliate and accompanying dependants (if applicable)
Letter confirming employment from the affiliate's home country employer, including: confirmation of continued employment with the home employer or confirmation of previous employment confirmation of any continuing salary or wage payments (if applicable) confirmation of the period of leave approved by the employer (if applicable) confirmation that the applicant's period of research in Australia is fully supported
Details of proposed visit
Proposed research at the faculty (not more than four pages), including: a brief letter of support from the Faculty of Education and Social Work staff member sponsoring your application commencement and completion dates for the visit your reason/s for wishing to visit the Faculty of Education and Social Work the name, title and contact details of a staff member in your home institution supporting your application research methodology (how you will gather data) expected outcomes – the type of publication envisaged as a result of your study visit a brief synopsis of a seminar/s you would like to present to the faculty
