Pre-placement and mid-placement seminars
Field educators who provide placement offers that are successfully matched to a student, are invited to attend a pre-placement and mid-placement seminar at the University.
Field Education Handbook
Field educators undertaking supervision are provided with a comprehensive Field Education Handbook (pdf, 4.26MB) that outlines the policy and procedures for the Social Work Field Education Program including all learning and assessment expectations for students.
Online eLearning
The online Field Education interactive website provides field educators with the opportunity to participate in discussions on relevant professional learning Field Education issues and also to receive consistent support from the University as well as from their peers. This eLearning opportunity enhances the face-to-face discussion that takes place between field educators at the regular seminars.
New-field-educator workshops
Free workshops are provided for new field educators as well as for those requiring a refresher course and are conducted twice a year. If you would like to attend a “Preparing to be a field educator” workshop, contact the Manager, Social Work Field Education, Nandini Ray.
Annual Field Education conference
All field educators registered on our database are invited to attend an annual Field Education conference. This is a free conference that covers a broad range of important field education topics and is often held in November.
