Core units of study

Elective units of study

Capstone units of study

Master’s candidates must complete either the Special Project (6 credit points) or the Dissertation (12 credit points), normally in their final semester of enrolment. Students who intend to undertake a higher degree by research (MPhil, PhD or EdD) in the future should enrol in the Dissertation, which has minimum enrolment standards. All master's students are advised to download and read carefully the Master's Dissertation Submission Instructions (doc, 782kB), Master's Dissertation Package (pdf, 598kB) and Master's Special Project Package (pdf, 313kB) before applying to enrol in their capstone unit/s.

Units of study outside the designation

Master's candidates who wish their degree to be recognised as a specialist teaching qualification by the NSW Department of Education cannot undertake units outside the Special and Inclusive Education designation. However, the University resolutions do allow graduate diploma candidates to complete one unit (6 credit points), and master's candidates up to two units (12 credit points), from other designations within the school (with the exception of Higher Education).
