Requesting access to a specific University LMS site
Authority for access to currently running UoS sites must come from the UoS site coordinators.
You can request access to previous UoS sites for the purpose of teaching the UoS subject from either the HOD or your Faculty Dean if the previous site coordinators have become unavailable.
the site access request, including the UoS code for the site you wish access to, and permission from the relevant person. We expect past UoS coordinators of the site to be included in the email. Helpdesk can create permissions in SEAMS (Sydney eLearning Account Management) to allow a copy of a previous year UoS site for an upcoming semester to be created.
Access through SEAMS
If you need tutor or co-designer access, you can ask the primary site designer or coordinator to give you access to the UoS site. This is done through SEAMS by the site coordinator by clicking on 'staff' enrollments and entering the UniKey of the staff member and choosing a site role - instructor or teaching assistant.
Site Roles and Rights
Each type of role have slightly different access rights to your UoS site. You can choose to give your tutors or external lecturers different roles depending on what access they need. If your lecture uploads are done by an admin support person in the faculty you would need to give them designer access to upload files to the main site. Tutors need access to moderate discussions and enter grades into the Grade Centre.
- Section Designer or Section Instructor: access to entire site
- Teaching Assistant: Access to Discussions and Grade Centre
