University of Sydney has over 100 research staff and postgraduate students, from over 5 faculties, researching various aspects of tissue engineering.  Tissue Engineering research is carried out in the Medicine, Engineering, Science, Veterinary Science and Pharmacy faculties, and includes the following research fields:

• Biomaterials & Skeletal Tissue,
• Soft Tissue Engineering, and
• Cellular Engineering

SuTEN aims to achieve the following outcomes:

• Foster opportunities for multidisciplinary research collaborations
• Develop and facilitate use of a broad range of scientific and laboratory expertise amongst researchers at the University of Sydney
• Bring together industry and researchers
• Build involvement and support from industry, government and other funding organisations.
