Chemical and biomolecular engineering is a broad field that combines the key disciplines of chemistry, physics and biology.
Drawing on an extensive knowledge of areas including nanotechnology, molecular biology, environmental science and information technology, chemical and biomolecular engineers design valuable products and processes that address a wide range of societal and environmental challenges.
We offer an exciting range of chemical and biomolecular engineering programs. Areas of study include chemical engineering, biochemical engineering and biotechnology, energy and environment, green product and process design, minerals processing, process systems engineering and sustainability.
The school also offers a unique industrial placement scholarship program, where our top final year undergraduate students can spend 6 months undertaking high-level investigative projects with one of our industry partners whilst receiving financial support.
Career opportunities for chemical and biomolecular engineers are diverse, including in the fields of oil, gas, and renewable resources, health, water, biotechnology and environmental management.
At undergraduate level, we offer a four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical and Biomolecular) degree program, while a five-year combined degree program with arts, science, commerce, law or medical science is also available.
