Modelling the behaviour of random materials
During this project the PhD student is expected to derive and establish fundamental relationships that will help in describing the behaviour random materials. The scope of the project is generic considering that all existing materials possess some level of randomness. Small-scale experiments on ideal random materials will be included in this project to validate the analytical/numerical component of the project. Particular attention will be given to the class of random cellular materials. This project will be co-supervised by Dr Gianluca Ranzi.
