Student-Staff Liaison Committee - Representatives Required
We are seeking student representatives for the student staff liaison committee. Approximately 5 people from each year group are required.
The student staff liaison committee gives you an opportunity to voice any concerns you have with any aspect of your experience related to the School of Civil Engineering. We are committed to improving the student experience and if we are to be effective in doing this your input is essential. The next meeting of the committee will be held on Monday 9 May, 1 pm, in the Civil Engineering Conference Room (with free pizza lunch for the student representative attendees).

Exams - Semester 1 2011
- Semester 1 Exam Timetable
- Replacement exams: If you are sick during exams, or there is some other issue, the School will have replacement exams, subject to appropriate approval of special consideration. Most of these replacement exams will be held between Monday 11 - Wednesday 13 July.
New surveying equipment in 2011
We have recently purchased new sets of surveying total stations. These are currently being used by our second year students at the Survey and Construction Camp at Webb's Creek.

If we found your wallet or USB, or need to contact you urgently concerning results, it is important that you have your current contact details registered with the university. Many of you may have changed addresses or phone numbers since you first started university.

New Degree - Bachelor of Project Management
The Faculty of Engineering & IT will be introducing a new degree in 2012, the Bachelor of Project Management (BPM). In particular, we believe the combined degree offering Engineering/Project Management (BE/BPM) in all streams across all of engineering (not just civil) will help provide the modern infrastructure professionals our nation and the world will require in the coming years.
Infrastructure Update - PNR Building
Plans are well advanced for the redevelopment of the PNR Building. The old library will be converted into a new informal study and work area, with both quiet and group areas. Upstairs, PNR Drawing Office 1 will receive a major technological upgrade to convert it to a modern IT-enhanced learning space.
We will keep you informed about the progress of this redevelopment, and how the construction program starting in June will affect you and your study.
