Research project - Upright capacity of light gauge steel storage racks
Supervisor: Prof Kim Rasmussen
Damien Koen is a structural engineer with specialist skills in finite element analysis and research and development. On completion of his degree in 2001 he joined LFC Contracting and was involved in building a single span concrete bridge in Dorrigo, NSW. Interested in finite element analysis and structural design, Damien joined the Cardno in 2002 and has been primarily involved in Finite Element Analysis, and the research and development of building products. Damien is currently undertaking a Masters of Engineering by research at the University of Sydney. Damien chose his research topic in the design of light gauge steel storage racking with the use of Finite Element Analysis to simulate the experimental testing.
