Research Project - 3D grain-scale crack simulation in metallic materials using crystal plasticity theory and finite element method

Ling’s major research interest is computational mechanics, such as the finite element method and the meshfree method. Right now he is working on multiscale simulation of fatigue problem in metals, using crystal plasticity model.
