Research Interest
I have research interest in the area of network dynamics, network modelling, and health informatics. My research addresses interdisciplinary issues relating to understand the impact of network structure and network dynamics on group performance and coordination outcomes in complex, dynamic and distributed, and to model network itself. For understanding the impact of network structure and network dynamics, I use concepts and methods from coordination theory, organizational theory, network theory, and social network analysis. To model network and understand network dynamics, I apply features of exponential random graph, scale-free network topology, power-law theory, complexity theory, statistical dyadic and triadic interaction methods and models, actor-level and network-level network modelling approach, and the concept of static and dynamic network topology.
Current research projects
Evolutionary Dynamics of Networks under External Stress
This research explores longitudinal networks to understand their evolutionary dynamics under different level of external stress by applying stochastic actor-based modelling approach and simulation techniques. The understandings of the evolutionary dynamics of networks from this study could be applied to enhance our present knowledge in diverse research areas, such as how to destroy or control 'Disease Spread Network', and to find what influence the spread of 'Drug Users' Network'.
Understanding Effects of Professional Collaboration Network on Performance
Using Exponential Random Graphs and Stochastic Actor-based modelling approach this research aims to examine the effect of professional collaboration network dynamics on group performance by understanding the positional advantages and constraints of individuals within the collaboration network. The approach of this study for examining professional collaboration network can be applied in many contexts, such as to explore hospital performance by analyzing ‘Physician Collaboration Network’ that evolves within hospital during the course of delivering health services to hospitalized patients.
