The Centre for Water, Wind and Waves is an autonomous centre within the School of Civil Engineering. The mission of the centre is to promote and support collaborative academic research and research sponsored by industrial partners in various fields of environmental resources. The centre also offers consultancy services for industry, government, and non-profit external partners.

The centre's vision is to improve the understanding and knowledge transfer of qualitative and quantitative aspects related to environmental resources and aims at making its research outputs and outcomes beneficial to the national and international communities.
