Abstract

An existing Mathematical Technique- Laplace Transform has been used to calculate the time-dependent large deformation of soft soils. In the result of a series of one-dimensional consolidation tests, the influence of creep on the stress path is measured during the relaxation stage of the test. Both theoretical and experimental investigation will be used to develop a method of analysis of embankment-soft soil interaction which will lead to a more rational approach of embankment design and construction.
