Abstract
In the Sydney basin, the Wianamatta group is a major geological sequence, it is comprised of two shales known as Ashfield and Bringelly.Bringelly is the most abundant of the group rocks. the formation has received a minimal study. This is the first comprhensive investigation ever performed by an educational institution concerning the geotechnical problems of this formation. Some data are compared to Ashfield shale.
