Abstract
Over past decade, Information Technologies and Information Systems (IT/IS) have been developed dramatically and many companies realise that IT/IS have become crucial as a key success factor in doing business. However IT/IS projects continue to challenge even seasoned project management professionals. Research on IT/IS projects has consistently shown that these projects continue to fail within both private and public sector organisations leaving many disillusioned executives and disappointed clients. Unmanaged risks and issues cause poor quality and project performance failure; these lead to cost and time overruns. Project cost and time are not the only key success factors but executive management support, active user involvement, clear statement of requirements and so on are also considered as key success factors, whose management will influence success or failure of target projects.
This presentation will include research aims and objctives, background, significance, the potential use of System Dynamics for IT/IS projects management, research approaches, benefit and proposed outcomes.
