Seminar - Ryan Chen - Behaviour of Tunnels in Sedimentary Rock of the Sydney Basin
Wednesday 7 June 2006, 1.10 - 1.50 pm
Civil Engineering Lecture Theatre 3
Abstract
In the past 10 years, New methods and ground supports have been implemented in the underground constructions in Sydney basin. This project is to improve our understanding of behavior of the combined rock bolt and FRS support systems in the Sydney tunnel. A numerical method is used and to be developed to study the rock behavior surrounding the tunnel and the creep behaviour of the shotcrete lining with time-dependent material properties. Theoretical study will be compared with actual field data provided by industry partner.
