Project Management Honours

Students who have qualified for the Bachelor of Project Management degree with a Weighted Average Mark of 65 or above may apply to enter the Bachelor of Project Management Honours program.

The Bachelor of Project Management Honours is an adjunct program, requiring an additional 48 credit points (one year) of study from the Honours Table in the Faculty of Engineering and IT Handbook, as prescribed by the Head of School.

Entry Requirements

Honours in Project Management is available to meritorious candidates who complete an additional year of full-time study, after the completion of the pass degree. Part-time study is permitted if the Head of School is satisfied the candidate cannot undertake full-time study.

To qualify for admission to the Bachelor of Project Management Honours a candidate must:

  • have qualified for, or been awarded, a Bachelor of Project Management from the University of Sydney or a qualification deemed to be equivalent from another organisation, including a stream or major in the intended area of study
  • achieve a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65 calculated at the end of the semester immediately prior to the commencement of Honours
  • complete the necessary per-requisites of the Honours Thesis and any other applicable progression requirements
  • receive permission from the program coordinator and relevant Head of School.

How to Apply

  1. Ensure you meet the entry requirements for Honours, including having achieved a Weighted Average Mark of 65 or above.
  2. Decide on a research area and/or project for your Honours project. A list of projects and honours supervisors is available here
  3. Contact the relevant supervisor directly (usually via email) and arrange a meeting to discuss your proposed project.
  4. Once a supervisor is willing to accept you for an Honours project you need to apply. Current Students: submit a course transfer request via Sydney Student. New or transferring students: Apply for the Bachelor of Project Management (honours) via Sydney Courses.
