Higher Degree Candidature Probation Report

Please note that this is a mandatory requirement of your candidature. You have 10 working days to complete this process from the date of the email. Failure to do this may result in you being asked to 'Show Good Cause' as to why you should be permitted to continue your candidature.
Step One:

You must download and save the Probation Report (PDF) to your desktop before entering any information. Complete the form and ‘Save As’ in preparation to upload to the web form. Please note this is an updated APR form as of 2015. Please use this current form and not an older version

Step Two:

As you are in your first year of your candidature, you are required to upload a draft Research Proposal and Literature Review.
Please note -

  • The Research Proposal must be original and innovative, addressing a research question/s, and outline a clear research plan, research methodology and estimated time lines to complete the thesis. There is no prescribed length for the Research Proposal but it is expected that this be no more than 2 pages.
  • The Literature Review is a collection of state of the art knowledge in a specific field which provides clear evidence that you have a clear understanding of the background knowledge relevant to the research project.
  • For the purposes of your Probation APR, to show that you have a clear understanding of the above, you are required to submit a condensed version of your Literature Review for the Panel Committee’s consideration.
Step Three:

Login with your Unikey and password and follow the instructions to complete the web form.

Please note the form may take up to two minutes to submit. Please do not click the 'submit' button or quit or exit the page while submission is in progress. You will receive an email to your University account shortly after successful submission.
