School of Electrical and Information Engineering – Peer Mentoring Program
for International Students.
[7 Aug 2012]
On 3rd August, new international students enrolling in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering program were officially welcomed by Prof. Branka Vucetic, Head of School, in the first Peer Mentoring Program lunch meeting of the semester. During the session, the students met with key academic advisers, and were introduced to their respective student mentor who would guide through the first three-month of University life.
The EIE Peer Mentoring Program has been running successfully for the past several years. The program has been consistently cited as being one of the most valued experiences enjoyed by international students during their studies.
EIE student mentors are selected from a group of capable 3rd /4th year undergraduate and research students who play an important role under the guidance of Dr. Zihuai Lin and A/Prof. Yonghui Li, EIE international student advisors, in helping new international students in settling into Australian university life.
