Work Health Safety (WHS) & Risk Management Procedures

This page provides information on Work Health and Safety (WHS), including organizational structures and Work Health and Safety Risk Management (WHSRM) procedures in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering (EIE).

  • To comply with the WHS Policy, all workers are required to use RiskWare to report any hazards, incidents or injuries relating to University activities. You can also report an incident on behalf of other people, such as colleagues, students, contractors or visitors.

  • All incident reports must be submitted within 24 hours of the incident.

  • The supervisors/managers are required to submit corrective action plans in RiskWare within one week of hazard/incident reports.

All teaching and research activities undertaken by staff, visitors, and postgraduates within the School of EIE require to submit a Risk Assessment Form (RAF) and get a work permit prior to commencing the teaching/research activities. Completed forms are reviewed by the School's Safety Committee (SSC) to ensure that the correct procedures have been followed in accordance with NSW legislation and University policies related to WHS. Projects/teaching activities are not to be undertaken until an associated Risk Assessment Form (RAF) has been submitted and approved by the Safety Committee.
