I am a PhD student at CARlab. The focus of my research was on sound field recording and playback and more specifically on microphone arrays. During my PhD I designed, built and tested both a cylindrical microphone array and a novel concentric rigid and open spherical microphone array which has a rigid spherical microphone array located at the centre of an open spherical microphone array. Both arrays were designed for high fidelity recording and beamforming, and are now currently being used in the lab for other research projects. When I am not in the lab doing research I have a second job as professional tennis umpire travelling to the four major grand slam tournaments around the world.
