Over a period of more than twenty years, I have consulted to a diverse range of client organisations on both business systems and systems technical architecture issues. In many cases, I was retained as project manager for the implementation and deployment after the analysis and design phases. From my extensive experience, I have identified the key issues which lead to the common dissatisfaction with business IT systems. Consequently, when the opportunity to pursue research into these issues at The University of Sydney becamea possibility in early 2008, I just had to step up to the challenge.
