Biography

George Mathews received a BE(Hons) and BSc from the University of New South Wales in 2004, and a PhD in Mechatronic Engineering from the University of Sydney in 2008. Following his postgraduate research he joined BAE Systems’ Advanced Technology Centre in the United Kingdom. Since 2011, he has been with National ICT Australia as a Senior Researcher.

His research interests are based around large scale systems, such as electricity networks. Specifically this includes developing scalable estimation, control, optimisation and design methods for large networked and spatially distributed systems.
