7th Australia-China Symposium in Education, Science and Technology (7th FOCSA Symposium)

Following the previous main symposiums of FOCSA (The Federation of Chinese Scholars in Australia), the 7th Australia-China Symposium in Education, Science and Technology (7th FOCSA Symposium), well be held in Sydney, 28-30 November, aiming to bring together about 200 participants who are the executive officers, leading experts and scholars from both Australia and China. The aims of the Symposium are: 1) to further the bilateral understanding of some highly important issues in education, science and technology, concerning both countries, 2) to facilitate more fruitful collaboration and cooperation in all disciplines of science, technology and education between Australia and China, by providing a forum for exchange of ideas and networking among representatives from academia, research organizations, and governments, and 3) to report and review the latest developments and progresses in the areas of interest through the invited keynote addresses and selected presentations. The Symposium will also focus on some strategic topics of interest to both countries, such as future high education, science and technology without boarder, technology transfer, innovation in science and technology etc.

Networking nowadays appears very critical for career development of academics, in particular for the early-career researchers, in applying for research grants from governments, developing collaboration, attracting research funding from industry etc., 7th FOCSA Symposium will serve as a forum to enhance the bilateral support between researchers in the same areas or disciplines, fostering their excellence and promoting successes in their endeavours.

The schemes of the scientific programmes aim to covers all areas of sciences and technologies, health sciences, social sciences, etc.

Conference Proceedings

All extended abstracts will be peer-reviewed and the accepted abstracts will be published as the Symposium abstract proceedings in a pdf format. Each registration for the Symposium will receive a complimentary copy of the Symposium proceedings.

Conference Venue

7th ACSEST will be held on campus of The University of Sydney, which is about 4 km to the Sydney CBD, where the famous Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour, Harbour Bridge and Sydney Tower locate. There are convenient bus connections between the Darlington Campus and the Sydney CBD.

Conference Accommodations

The local organising committee will not arrange the accommodations for the individual attendees of Symposium, as any fund going through the account will attract 10% GST, but will provide a list of hotels that are connected to the conference venue via buses or in walking distance. The local organising committee will also try to secure some university college accommodations subject to vacancy.
