Flexible Entry Scheme

At Sydney we want to attract the most promising students, whatever your background. Our Flexible Entry Scheme looks at the whole you, not just your ATAR.

If you are completing Year 12 or equivalent and are taking subjects relevant to your degree of interest, you may be eligible for our Flexible Entry Scheme. This scheme gives you the chance to receive an offer for a course if you achieve an ATAR that falls within five points of the published ATAR.

There are two ways in which we assess your suitability for entry to our courses. We then make an adjustment of up to five ATAR points for your chosen course*.

  1. You are automatically assessed based on your performance in the HSC or equivalent subjects relevant to your chosen course.
  2. Demonstrations of leadership will also be taken into consideration. You will need to supply documentary evidence of awards or achievements in problem solving, leadership in the school or wider community or participation in relevant activities. To have these criteria included in your assessment you will need to complete an online application form. This form will be open for submissions in August.

Note: Flexible Entry is only available to domestic applicants. Domestic applicants are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, or permanent residents of Australia (including those holding an Australian permanent humanitarian visa).

Flexible Entry does not apply to the combined degrees with commerce, law, medical science or design in architecture.
