New undergraduate engineering students with a UAC preference for The University of Sydney
Admission for Australian students completing the HSC, or equivalent in other States, (also onshore international students, offshore Australian permanent residents and citizens, and permanent residents and citizens of NZ) is through the University Admission Centre (UAC). We cannot admit you unless you have applied through UAC and meet their requirements.
Admission for HECS tertiary students wishing to transfer from other universities must also apply through UAC.
University/Faculty Admission criteria
The University publishes its entry rankings, Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for all its degrees and in the UAC Handbook.
Special admission criteria also apply and these can also be found on this website
Faculty of Engineering Flexible Entry Scheme
Flexible Entry Scheme allows students who are close to published Admission Ranking (ATAR) cut-offs to apply and be considered for Commonwealth supported places and gain entry based on assessment of Engineering or IT ability, leadership skills and other related criteria.
