Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA), University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards (UPA) and Vice-Chancellor’s Research Scholarships (VCRS)
Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) are scholarships awarded to students of exceptional research potential to undertake a higher degree by research at an Australian university. The scholarships are provided to assist with general living costs.
Applications for the 2012 Semester Two APA/UPA are now open
These awards are primarily for candidates who wish to commence their postgraduate studies in 2012 Semester two. Students who did NOT apply in the 2012 Semester one APA/UPA round but enrolled in 2012 Semester one will also be eligible to apply.
Please note unsuccessful 2012 Semester one APA/UPA applicants who have commenced their postgraduate studies at this University will NOT be considered. They will need to apply in the 2013 Semester one round (applications open around late August 2012).

Australian Government Research Scholarships for International Students
The IPRS is available to students commencing in both the March and July Semesters. Students must indicate that they would like to be considered for the IPRS by completing the relevant section of the Postgraduate Research Application form. To be considered for the award, applications MUST be received by the International Office by:
- 31 July of the previous year for Semester 1 (March) commencement
- 31 December of the previous year for Semester 2 (July) commencement

Postdoctoral Research Fellowships
The University of Sydney Postdoctoral Fellowships were established in 1996 to support excellence in full-time research undertaken in any Department or School at the University.
