ACS Foundation Scholarship - Seven Work Integrated Learning Scholarships

The foundation has just completed the negotiations with a donor for
seven new WIL scholarships. These scholarships are to commence at the
beginning of the second academic semester 2005 and run for a period of
twelve months.
The Scholarship is to the value of $28,000 per annum plus free
membership of the Australian Computer Society and comes with an
additional opportunity to gain $2,000 worth of software support from
Intersystems.
Appropriate students should be completing their penultimate year of ICT
studies. There are four scholarships to based in Sydney at West Pennant
Hills, St. Leonards, North Sydney and the IBM Innovations Centre for
Business in Sydney. The Victorian Scholarships will be based in
Melbourne.
The Foundation is seeking your cooperation in promoting to your students
these scholarship opportunities. Students can be completing any ICT
related degree but must be able to demonstrate outstanding communication
skills; high academic achievements; individual motivation and an ability

This workshop is intended to provide a two-day forum comprising
presentations from leading international researchers on the
emerging science and technology of natural communication between
humans and machines using two or more concurrent input and/or output
modes. Multimodal interfaces are steadily gaining interest from both the
research community and the commercial world as computing devices become
smaller and more mobile, input and output technologies become more robust,
and new interaction possibilities appear on the horizon. The workshop will
comprise two keynote speeches, more than fifteen technical presentations,
live demonstrations, and a Collaborative Project Forum.

I am Yong-Soo Kim and teaching Computer Science at Software College of
Kyungwon University (www.kyungwon.ac.kr) in Korea. The University is
located at the suburbs of Seoul.
We are planning to invite a couple of visiting professors overseas
majoring in embedded Linux for 5 months. I wonder if you could
introduce someone who is interest in studying in Korea with us. Two
professors, Prof. Richard Lai (R.Lai at latrobe.edu.au) and Dianhui Wang
(dh.wang at latrobe.edu.au), from La Trobe University (Melbourne, Australia)
have been working with us since March. The terms and conditions are
as follow:
1) Qualification
(1) Ph.D. degree in IT, preferably in embedded system or e-Learning
(2) Fluent English in speaking and writing
