logo information

The BMIT logo represents our inventive and modern approach to research in the multimedia and medical sciences. It consists of a series of elements which symbolise our main research focus as well as our vision for the future of biomedical research.

The logo consists of a stylised version of the ubiquitous medical Caduceus symbol, with the snakes traditionally adorning Hermes' staff converted into a simplified atomic structure. Together, these symbols represent our drive toward the future of medical research, with the snakes typifying the concept of wisdom, and the atomic structure recalling molecular medicine - the future of medical scanning technology - as well as serving as the standard symbolic representation of "advanced science".

Furthermore, the mobile device displayed projecting the atomic structure serves to both visually balance the remainder of the logo and to further reinforce our dedication to advancing the future of technology: it is representative not only of the increasingly dynamic needs of healthcare practitioners but of the power of modern computing technology, and the ability of our research group to innovate within the private as well as the public research space and harness the power of modern technology in a way that connects most directly with people: advanced medical imaging and support systems, quite literally in the palm of one's hand.
