Unit of Study delivery

A variety of learning situations will be employed during this unit of study. These are lectures, tutorials and project work in computer labs, automatically marked programming problems and assessment tasks. To benefit fully from this unit you need to participate in all aspects of the unit.

Student commitments

You are expected to:

• Work 12 hours per week for this course (including the 6 contact hours);
• Attend 3 lectures per week:
  • Monday 1-2pm, Architecture LT1;
  • Tuesday 1-2pm, Architecture LT1;
  • Wednesday 1-2pm, Architecture LT1;
• Attend 3 hours of tutorial/laboratory time:
  • Tuesday 4-5:30pm, School of IT, Labs 114/115
  • Wednesday 4-5:30pm, School of IT, Labs 114/115

  • Wednesday 4-5:30pm, School of IT, Labs 116
  • Thursday 4-5:30pm, School of IT, Labs 116
• If you need additional assistance, the consultation hour is:
  • Tuesday 2-3pm in SIT 448 (Tara's office). Please ring my office from the phones near the lift on Level 4.
• Practice programming tasks outside of contact hours;
• Participate in discussions in lectures and labs;
• Complete all assessment tasks on time;
