The KTS Timetabling System, Version 1.9 (March 2009)

The KTS High School Timetabling System

This web site allows you to enter information describing the timetabling problem at your high school. It can produce a timetable based on this information, quite quickly. Our tests show run times of about 12 seconds for a typical one-week timetable, and about 60 seconds for a typical two-week timetable, when the server KTS runs on is not doing anything else. This web site also supports research into high school timetabling, by archiving instances of the problem and sets of solutions to those instances contributed by researchers. These services are free. Click here for more information.

Timetabling inevitably involves the entry and display of a lot of detailed information. In order for this information to be communicated efficiently, you need to ensure that your web browser presents you with a viewing area that is roughly the size of an ordinary piece of paper, that ordinary text in that viewing area is about as large as ordinary printed text on paper, and that you have a relatively fast Internet connection. If you work with a small viewing area, large text, or a slow connection, your experience of this web site might be quite unpleasant.

To use the system, select one of these three options:

  1. I have a KTS account and want to use it now.
    Account name:
    Password:
  2. I am visiting and want to look around the Visitor account.

  3. I want a KTS account to be created for me now.
