Shuttle Mission STS-57/Discovery

From what I can gather the landing of STS-57/Discovery at KSC was the first night landing of a shuttle there. I enjoyed the benefit of watching the landing broadcast over the MBONE on Nasa Select. I would highly recommend this as it is great fun. Thanks to those who provided the service.

We took some window dumps while Discovery was landing. After the shuttle had landed and while it was cooling off the astronauts disembarking. Unfortunately some of the best of these seem to have been clipped.

Discovery just after landing (IR image). Notice the heat trace rising from near the tail.

Another IR image of Discovery about 10-15 minutes later after cooling somewhat.

Don't ask me what this was. I wasn't here for this one.

These images were dumped from captured windows from a running session of nv and then converted from xwd format to gif format via ppm.
