Install the Mac OS X Developer Tools

They are not only relevant for developers but come with a number of utilities which are also useful for "normal" users in their day-to-day operations. Current Xcode installer packages can also be found in the local software repository.

1. on the "Mac OS X Install Disc 1", open the folder "Xcode Tools", then the "Xcode Tools.mpkg" installer package
2. click "Continue"
3. click "Continue"
4. click "Continue"
5. do the licensing thing
6. click "Continue"
7. click "Customize"
   • check all checkboxes in the list
8. click "Install"
