Shutdown unneeded Network Interfaces on Mac OS X
- near the right end of the menu bar at the top of the screen, look for the the symbol for "Bluetooth"
- if it exists, click onto it and choose "Turn Bluetooth Off" (even if it is being used it should be switched off when not in use)
- to the right of the "Bluetooth" symbol you may find a symbol representing "AirPort"
- if it exists, click onto it and choose "Turn AirPort Off" (unless we are looking at a laptop that is intended to use the wireless connection)
