| Masters Coursework Accounts |

The two accounts give access to the two groups of SchoolServers supported in the School, which can be divided into those directly supporting general teaching, including access from teaching labs and general student use, and those supporting higher level courses, project work and research.
The two levels of machines are generally referred to (for historical reasons) as ugrad and non-ugrad respectively, and have two separate domains ug.it.usyd.edu and it.usyd.edu.au.
Newly enrolling Masters coursework students will be assigned the same login name for their two School accounts as that issued to them by the University for their UniKey access.
Students who have had login accounts with the School prior to mid-2002 will find that their login has been preserved from their old accounts, and may be different from their UniKey login.
Masters coursework students enrolling after 2002 will find that their two School computer accounts share a single password. Students who enrolled prior to 2003 may find that they have distinct passwords for their accounts. During the first semester of 2003 these accounts will be merged into one, and the users affected will be contacted in advance of any changes. The passwords for School accounts are distinct from any passwords set for UniKey access.
General information about handling passwords can be found in the section on PasswordChanging.
With the two accounts come two email addresses loginname@ug.it.usyd.edu.au and loginname@it.usyd.edu.au. These are in addition to the University wide UniKey based loginname@mail.usyd.edu.au.
General information about handling mail can be found in the section on MailSetup.
Masters coursework students enrolling after 2002 will find that their two School computer accounts share a single home directory. Students who enrolled prior to 2003 may find that they have distinct home directories for their accounts. During the first semester of 2003 these home directories will be merged into one, and the users affected will be contacted in advance of any changes.
