School of Information Technologies   Password Changing
 TitleIndex   WordIndex

The School of Information Technologies maintains two password domains. The password for an account in a domain is used in a variety of ways: for Unix/Linux logins, samba authentication for Windows, mail client authentication, web proxy server authentication, and restricted intranet authorisation.

The two password domains are known as undergraduate (ugrad) and non-undergraduate (non-ugrad). See ComputerAccounts for a more general description of the two domains and the populations they service.

Changing passwords

Forgotten passwords

Password changing relies on the user knowing the current password.

UniKey passwords

Please note that password changing in the School of Information Technologies has no effect on UniKey/extro passwords which are maintained separately by the University's [WWW]ICT division.
