Biographical details

Dylan Lu received his BEng(Hons) and PhD degrees in Electronic and Information Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, in 1999 and 2004 respectively.

He was a Research Assistant at the same department from 1999 to 2000. From 2002 to 2003, he served as a Research Student Trainee with Newton Power Limited. In 2003, he joined PowereLab Limited , a spin-off company at The University of Hong Kong, as a Senior Engineer. His major responsibilities include project development and management, circuit design, and contribution of research in the area of power electronics. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, The University of Sydney, Australia.

He has published over 90 technical articles on the analysis and design of power electronics circuits for various applications and engineering education. He holds two patents. His current research interests include power electronics circuits and control for efficient power conversion, power factor correction, consumer electronics, and renewable electrical energy systems, grid-integration issues and engineering education. He serves currently as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Electronics, an Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Member of several Editorial Boards such as Smart Grid and Renewable Energy and Energy and Power Engineering. He is a member of IEAust and a senior member of IEEE.
