Biographical details
In 2009, he took one year study leave and joined MIRALab, University of Geneva, Switzerland, as an experienced researcher for a European Marie Curie research project 3D Anatomical Human. This EU project involved collaborating with 8 partners from 6 countries including UCL, INRIA, IOR and EPFL. Dr. Kim had the privilege to take a number of major responsibilities in project management and research coordination, as well as visits to the partnering institutions. When at the University of Sydney, he has also taken several key responsibilities in undergraduate / postgraduate teaching and has supervised a number of MPhil and PhD students.
He is a reviewer for several leading journals in his field, i.e., Journal of Visual computing, IEEE Transactions and other leading publications. He is also a reviewer of the ARC research funding body since 2007. He has been involved in organizing a number of conferences, including the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) Symposium held in Australia and the 3DAH workshop held in Greece. He has been on the international programme committee of the Computer Graphics International (CGI) since 2011.
