Our research is driven by the big picture. We take a problem and look at it from all angles, combining the expertise and talents of scholars and students from various disciplines.
As an example, one of our software engineers is working together with an endocrinologist at the Charles Perkins Centre to treat diabetes. Together they’ve created an avatar-based app, the Intelligent Diabetes Lifestyle Coach, which will help people with diabetes around the world stick to their treatment programs.
This is just one of the ways our researchers and students from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies are playing a key role in the University’s interdisciplinary research and teaching centres. We also work with other research groups including the Australian Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology, China Studies Centre and the Brain and Mind Centre.
