ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for the Australian Biotechnology and Food Processing Industry in the 21st Century PhD Scholarships
Who Should Apply: Open to domestic and international applicants with a Masters degree or a strong Honours degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline (e.g. Bioengineering, Food Processing, Mechanical Engineering) to undertake research in three key areas:
  • Nutraceuticals: Research and develop high-value products from food waste and establish new approaches that can be employed in the food chain to manufacture safe and healthy foods.
  • Optimisation: Research approaches to process design and optimisation that maximise value from raw food materials, minimise waste production and reduce energy costs.
  • Solids Processing: Research innovative ways to manage solid materials to increase food shelf-life, and prevent loss of activity whilst in storage.
Value: $30,745 p.a.
